WHO WE ARE

MedLinks Transcription Inc. is an industry leading medical transcription company dedicated to providing superior transcription services to hospitals and specialty clinics nationwide, with a special emphasis on the ambulatory surgical center arena. MedLinks Transcription Inc. offers your providers a full range of dictation options including mobile dictation for iPhone or iPad, among others. We enhance the physician-patient relationship by making it simple for doctors to document their patient’s profile, capturing the information when it can be the most accurate, at the time of care.

President / CEO

As President and CEO, I appreciate the opportunity to share some of my professional and personal highlights as well as my post-college education and the evolution of MedLinks Transcription, Inc. My primary and secondary education was completed in Knoxville, Tennessee, with an honors Bachelor degree in English and a minor in Business Administration. I began my professional career in the legal field, finishing the last two years of my legal tenure in medical malpractice.

In 1999, I became a liaison for a large corporate entity that was transitioning into the health care field. I consulted with them and developed their proprietary internet-based platform, ensuring HIPAA compliance as well as cultivating their medical and QA support staff and implementing company policies and procedures. In the following years, I developed a medical transcription course/program based on the AAMT Book of Style and found it rewarding to educate and share my extensive knowledge of the industry with others.

MedLinks began operations in October 1999 as a sole proprietorship, providing transcription services to medical practitioners in all disciplines of the medical profession. In 2004, the company added two partners. Their expertise and insight into the transcription field has broadened MedLinks’ scope of business and helped to identify current technological platforms to effectively translate established operational standards into user-friendly, no-nonsense medical transcription support services nationwide. In conclusion, I am very happy to be the President/CEO of MedLinks and I am extremely proud of our management team. We attained corporate status in January 2010.

I have four children, three who walk on the earth and one who walks with the angels. I am active in my church and I am a member of the Blount County Arts & Crafts Guild. In my spare time I enjoy crafting handmade soap, lotion and other bath and beauty products. I also enjoy traveling, gardening and reading, and I am active within my community.

DianA McCaslin

Vice President / COO

As an officer in MedLinks Transcription, Inc., I appreciate the opportunity to share some of my career history and personal life. I am from Jackson, Tennessee, where I completed my primary and secondary education. While completing the Medical Office Assistant Program, I was awarded the TSMA and the Sue Nalor Scholarships, both based upon merit and personal recommendations.

My professional career began in 1992 with a medical transcription job in pathology, but I stayed busy with additional part-time work from various family practice and multispecialty clinics. Years later I moved into management, and by serving as a manager I became aware of other areas of focus such as quality assurance and human resources. During this time I met two wonderful people that I joined forces with, and that was the beginning of my joyous journey with MedLinks. I am proud to be an owner in MedLinks and to provide a service to my community, as well as to MTs across the country, knowing and understanding the wants and needs of both sides; the quality and service integral for our customers and the care and understanding that is needed for the medical transcriptionist.

I am married with seven children and three grandchildren. In my free time I enjoy painting, boating and motorcycling.

Amy Smith

Vice President / Risk Management

As an officer in MedLinks Transcription, Inc., I appreciate the opportunity to share some of my professional and personal highlights. I was born and raised in North Carolina where I completed my Medical Office Administration Degree. I was awarded the Jane Gatlin Beta Club Scholarship based upon academic performance and merit.

My career in the medical field began as a successful medical transcriptionist for a large multispecialty clinic in my home town. I later moved into a supervisory management position where I oversaw more than 20 medical transcriptionists. Serving in this capacity, I began to understand the demands within the medical community and the needs of clients and transcriptionists alike.

I was fortunate enough to meet Diana and Traci, both of whom have my upmost respect. I am proud to be an officer in MedLinks and getting to work with these two wonderful women. From my diverse experience, I understand not only the requirements on the clinic side, but also the needs of a transcriptionist on a personal level, as well as the need for a credible transcription service. I look forward to helping my fellow transcriptionists and community through the services that MedLinks provides, and I believe MedLinks is the answer to all transcription needs.

Outside of work I enjoy being involved in my church serving as music director, and spending quality time with my husband and three teenage girls.
